François Mazure has made a career of going where other cameras do not. A familiar presence to French-speaking Belgian audiences, the journalist and adventurer has spent years seeking out the corners of the world that resist easy categorisation, the places and people that fall outside the frame of conventional travel coverage.
In an era when mass tourism and social media have flattened the experience of discovery, this long-running RTBF series takes a different approach. Mazure, often travelling with his partner Renaud, moves through destinations as far apart as China, Polynesia, and the Sahara, not in search of landmarks, but in search of encounters. What drives each episode is the human element: the unexpected meeting, the improbable situation, the story that would never have surfaced without someone willing to look sideways rather than straight ahead.
The result is travel journalism that feels genuinely curious rather than curated. There is no checklist of sights, no manufactured sense of wonder. Just a reporter with a clear eye and a low threshold for the obvious, finding the world consistently stranger and more generous than it appears from a distance.
Running from 2021 through to 2025, the series offers substantial volume for acquisitions.
