I Don't Know About You

Three minutes is all it takes. In each short episode of this Belgian series, presenter Patrick Leterme takes a single work from the classical repertoire and makes it feel newly alive, tracing its origins, the composer's intentions, and the way it has settled into cultural memory.

Alongside illustrator Etienne Duval, who sketches live as the conversation unfolds, Leterme approaches the canon with warmth, wit, and a deliberate lack of reverence. The result is something rare: classical music presented without condescension or solemnity, but without dumbing it down either.

Produced by RTBF between 2018 and 2020, the series is built entirely around Leterme's distinctive personality. His humour is dry and unguarded, his enthusiasm genuine. Duval's real-time illustrations add a spontaneous, visual energy that keeps each episode moving at exactly the pace its subject demands.

The format is short-form, but the ambition is not small.
