Juliana, Neret, Fatoumata and Cyrielle have earned their places in LIA, an Advanced Laboratory in Artificial Intelligence that is as demanding as it is prestigious. Four doctoral students, each brilliant and restless, they arrive carrying the weight of their own histories alongside the pressure of research that pushes into genuinely uncharted territory.

The series follows them through the technical and ethical complexity of AI development, but also through something harder to quantify: the personal reckoning that comes with ambition, transition, and the particular exhaustion of having to prove yourself in a field that was not built with you in mind.

Filmed at real scientific institutions across Catalonia, including the Barcelona Supercomputer Center and the Synchrotron, LIA grounds its fiction in credible, contemporary science. The four leads carry the weight of the drama, supported by established names Emma Vilarasau and Daniel Grao.

Created for 3Cat and written by Ana Millán, Josep Solé, Marta Grau and Mireia Llinàs, the series works both as a study of the ethical frontiers of artificial intelligence and as an intimate portrait of four young women finding their footing. The science is real. So are the questions it raises.
