Paula Díaz is a brilliant surgeon who arrives at Valle Norte Hospital to take charge of its Surgery Department. She comes with a clear vision and the confidence to pursue it. But ambition rarely travels without friction.
The post she now holds was one her new colleague Héctor had long expected to be his own. A respected surgeon who has spent his entire career within these walls, Héctor's resentment sets the tone for a rivalry that shapes everything around it. Decisions that might seem straightforward become charged. Alliances form and shift. The department's already considerable egos find new reasons to clash.
The series moves between the pressures of a busy surgical unit and the more tangled business of the people working inside it. Medical cases provide the rhythm, but the real drama plays out in corridors, consultation rooms, and the spaces between professional obligation and personal feeling. There is humour here too, woven into the daily absurdities of hospital life, giving the show a warmth that balances its sharper edges.
Created by Peris Romano and Xabi Puerta, and produced by RTVE in collaboration with José Frade PC, Valle Norte Hospital is a character-driven drama with broad appeal to audiences of medical and workplace fiction.
