On the night of his 18th birthday, Cédric drives home from a party with his childhood friend Sarah. Both teenagers are found near death at the scene of a car crash. But the details don't add up: the car was stolen, Sarah's body has been moved, and the person who called for help has disappeared.
What follows is a slow, searching examination of how one night can permanently alter the lives of two families who were once close friends. Sarah survives, but with severe disabilities. The accident sets off a prolonged medical and legal battle, as questions of responsibility push parents and teenagers into painful, unfamiliar territory. When the lead investigator discovers her own daughter was with the teens that night and said nothing, the search for truth becomes something far more personal.
Written by Michelle Allen and inspired by real events, For Sarah tells its story primarily through the relationship between Sarah and her father, Luc, as they move through the long aftermath together. The series reveals what happened on that night gradually, across ten episodes, without judgment and without easy resolution.
