Valérie Danault has her life exactly where she wants it. Freshly divorced, raising a son she adores, and professionally on track, she runs her days by the schedule and asks for nothing more. Then one morning her son turns up with head lice.
What follows is a cascade of small disasters, each feeding the next, that ends with a police incident, a firing, and the sudden, unwelcome arrival of free time. With her income gone, her routines stripped away, and her overbearing mother filling the silence, Valérie has no choice but to sit with herself, possibly for the first time.
Written by Isabelle Langlois and led by a multi-award-winning performance from Sophie Cadieux, Freefall is a French-Canadian comedy series that treats burnout not as a punchline but as a genuine reckoning. The humour comes from the absurdity of how completely a life can unravel, and from the painful recognition that holding everything together was never quite the same as living.
Four seasons produced by Encore Télévision for Radio-Canada. Recipient of the Gémeaux Award for Best Comedy across four consecutive cycles and winner of the Banff World Media Festival Rockie Award for Best Non-English Language Comedy. Acquired by Amazon Prime France.
