Juhis and Tommi are neighbours who cannot seem to stay out of trouble. Not serious trouble, but the grinding, social kind, where a small misjudgement spirals into an entirely avoidable disaster with no clean way out.
This Finnish short-form comedy follows the two men through the ordinary friction of everyday life, which has a habit of escalating far beyond what either of them intended. The situations they find themselves in are recognisably mundane at the start, a neighbourly favour, a domestic errand, a minor disagreement, and then things tip. Suddenly both options in front of them are bad ones, and they have to pick.
The series is built entirely around the chemistry between the two leads, Kari Ketonen and Antti Luusuaniemi, who also co-wrote the show. Their dynamic carries the comedy: two distinct personalities, a shared tendency to overcomplicate things, and a friendship strong enough to survive the mess they keep making. Tommi's wife Harriet watches all of this with the patience of someone who has largely stopped being surprised.
Directed in part by Jalmari Helander, Wingman ran for three seasons on Yle and offers a compact, character-driven format with strong remake potential across markets.
