Twenty years after one of the most emotionally charged moments in Belgian sports history, Justine Henin returns to the clay courts of Roland Garros. The occasion is the anniversary of her 2003 final against compatriot and rival Kim Clijsters, a match that carried a weight far beyond sport. Henin had promised her mother, who died when Justine was still young, that she would win there. She kept that promise.
Hosted by Ophélie Fontana and Benjamin Deceuninck, this feature-length documentary revisits that defining victory while reaching deeper into the private life behind the public champion. Now a mother herself, and speaking with uncommon candour, Henin reflects on a life that has been considerably more complicated than any scoreline could suggest.
The film moves between intimate confession and celebratory reunion. Friends, former coaches, and figures from Belgian cultural life gather at Roland Garros to honour her, while Henin opens doors to parts of the stadium the public never sees. There are lighter moments too, including a demonstration of the backhand John McEnroe once called the most beautiful in the world, and a friendly match against Deceuninck on the court where she made history.
