Apocalypse Kitchen

Two amateur cooks. One chef's recipe. And a buzzer that can ruin everything.

In each episode of this Belgian format, two friends go head-to-head in a timed challenge to reproduce a complex dish created by a professional chef. The premise is simple enough, but the kitchen is rigged. At any moment, an alarm can trigger a wave of disruptions: mechanical arms reach out from hidden hatches to steal or add ingredients, the lights cut out and competitors are left cooking in the dark, the clock suddenly accelerates, or the two contestants are forced to swap stations mid-recipe and pick up where the other left off.

To limit the damage, each cook must race to hit their buzzer before the chaos takes hold. Whoever reacts first gains the upper hand. But speed is only part of it. Skill, composure, and a reasonable amount of luck all play a role.

A host and the guest chef form the jury, judging the finished dishes and declaring a winner at the end of each episode.
