Ricardo is a celebrated chef with a Michelin star and a drinking problem he refuses to acknowledge. When a drunken outburst is filmed and goes viral, it costs him everything: his restaurant, his reputation, his home. With nowhere else to turn, he moves back in with his mother and takes a job teaching at the culinary school where he first learned to cook as a difficult teenager.
The school is not what he remembers, and neither is he. His students are a vivid, mismatched group: a Moroccan-born poet, a gypsy girl who raps everything she feels, a tattooed Latino kid hiding a complicated home life, a posh boy with nothing to prove, and an Asperger's student who treats every recipe like a theorem. Ricardo finds them frustrating, then familiar. The more time he spends with them, the more he recognises the teenager he once was.
Sin Gluten is a warm, sharp comedy about second chances, set in a kitchen where the real lessons have nothing to do with food. Produced by ONZA with RTVE and Prime Video, the series balances genuine humour with social awareness, building its story around a man slowly learning that redemption, like cooking, cannot be rushed.
