La Frontera

Spain, 1987. France has begun, cautiously, to cooperate with Madrid in the fight against ETA, handing suspected members over at the border. But within the organisation, a small dissident cell has other plans — a secret attack on Paris, mounted without the knowledge of its own leadership.

A principled captain of the Guardia Civil intercepts a coded warning through an informant and brings it to his superiors. The Spanish government, calculating that France might take terrorism more seriously if it experiences it directly, chooses not to act. The captain disobeys and contacts his counterpart in the French police, a man with whom his history is complicated, to stop the attack himself.

What he does not yet know is that the woman he has been seeing for weeks belongs to ETA. Her father, one of the organisation's senior figures, orders her to work alongside the captain and the French authorities to prevent the rogue cell from acting. She agrees, though not entirely for the reasons her father assumes.

The investigation draws in the Marseille underworld, document forgers, and a commando that leaves almost no trace. Three people with every reason to distrust each other must find a way to work together, against the clock and against orders.
