Peace Force

Sergeant Paula Elgueta is deployed with a Spanish military contingent on a UN peacekeeping mission in Equatorial Guinea when she receives a phone call that changes everything. Her fiancé, Staff Sergeant Hugo Reyes, is dead. The official verdict is suicide. Paula knows otherwise.

Refusing to escort his coffin home and determined to stay, she begins an unofficial investigation inside a military base that is hostile, secretive, and closing ranks fast. Suspicion falls on her relationship with Lieutenant Alfredo Cuesta. Colleagues turn against her. The institution she serves becomes the obstacle she must overcome.

The series builds its tension methodically, rooting everything in Paula's grief and her refusal to accept a version of events that doesn't hold together. Around her, a carefully drawn ensemble, including a military doctor grappling with her own loyalties, a first sergeant marked by past trauma, and a local teacher with a difficult history, adds texture to a world where the line between ally and threat is rarely clear.

Shot in Spain with Equatorial Guinea as its dramatic backdrop, Peace Force offers a setting almost entirely absent from Spanish television drama. Nominated for the Prix Europa 2022 in Best Television Fiction, it is a taut, character-anchored series with real emotional weight.
