Fanny is sixteen, curious, and restless in the way that teenagers often are. She loves dancing, she's experiencing her first real romance, and she's drawn to anything that feels like freedom. When she meets Damien, an older singer with easy money and effortless charm, the attraction seems harmless enough.
It isn't. Damien's world is one of strip clubs, manipulation, and sexual exploitation, and Fanny is pulled into it gradually, in the way that makes it almost impossible to see the danger until escape feels unthinkable. She runs away repeatedly, each time pulling her family deeper into fear and helplessness.
Created by Michelle Allen and directed by Éric Tessier, this French-language Canadian drama from Encore Television is rooted in the lived reality of sexual exploitation and trafficking of minors. The series follows Fanny across two seasons with precision and restraint, anchoring every development in her psychological experience rather than in thriller mechanics.
Ludivine Reding's central performance won awards at the Gala ARTIS, while the series collected three Prix Gémeaux and was recognised by Series Mania as one of the most-watched fiction series in the world. It has since been licensed to Netflix and adapted for TF1 in France.
